First show since since March 19, 2010 • First Triple Rock show • Seventh show on MN Live's calendar since April 30, 2005
From last.fm:
The Soviettes were a four-person stripped down and straight up punk band from Minneapolis, Minnesota, founded in 2001. The group was composed of Annie (guitar), Sturgeon (guitar), Susy (bass guitar), and the sole male in the band, Danny (drums), all of whom switched off singing duties. They named the band "The Soviettes" when Annie was serving coffee in a previous job; one of her customers suggested "Your band should be called The Soviettes". Cheap Girls have been a band since the spring of 2007. The band was started with simple intentions of playing simple and loud rock songs. A 3-piece, the members are Adam Aymor (guitar), Ben Graham (drums), and Ian Graham (vocals and bass guitar). The band spent the better part of their first year in Ben's basement working out the songs that would become their first full length LP, "Find Me A Drink Home" Read more about Cheap Girls on Last.fm.
Slow Death
From Minneapolis
First show since since August 25, 2010 • First Triple Rock show since July 4, 2010 • Eighth show on MN Live's calendar since March 18, 2010
From last.fm:
There are two bands called The Slow Death. 1) The Slow Death is a melodic death doom metal band from Blue Mountains, Australia with both male and female vocals, formed by Stuart Prickett (mastermind of Elysium and Stone Wings) in 2007. Their style is ultra slow death/doom with melodic riffs, powerful deep growls, grandiose female vocals and tragical lyrics. The atmosphere is mournful and dark. The guitars are magnificent with perfect riffs, amazing melodies and rhythm changes. The melodies are melancholic passages of perpetual depression. Read more about The Slow Death on Last.fm.
