Haley Bonar (born 1983, Brandon, Manitoba) is an American alternative country singer-songwriter who hails from South Dakota. She has lived in Duluth and St. Paul, Minnesota. In July 2009, she moved to Portland, Oregon, where she spent a year writing songs for her newest album Golder. She plays mostly acoustic guitar and a rhodes or wurlitzer organ, either solo or with her Minneapolis-based band, including Jeremy Ylvisaker and Mike Lewis of Andrew Bird fame, as well as long time band mates Luke Anderson on drums and Jacob Hanson on guitar. Sin Ropas is a new weird america / experimental rock duo from Marshall, North Carolina, United States formed in 2000 by Tim Hurley (Red Red Meat, Califone). Sin Ropas' music is like this also: substantial bits of essential form, the gaps and cracks filled, but never quite covered, with new, and necessarily-changing materials. This might explain why Sin Ropas' records are featured on Top 10 Alt-Country lists at the same time as they appear on "Best of Rock" lists and psychedelic music websites. THE STORY: Reverend Murphy was born in Brooklyn, New York, hundreds years ago in a hot hot summer. He had one son and a daughter: Freddie Murphy and Chiara Lee. They choose 2 different ways: the little Lee went to China, while Freddie was stuck in Brooklyn. They kept in touch for a while, then both fell asleep for many years.
