Franz Nicolay is a multi-instrumentalist and man about town. He is a member of the World/Inferno Friendship Society, The Hold Steady, Guignol, and the Anti-Social Music collective. His piano, accordion, mandolin, banjo, saw, and harmonica playing can also be found in recordings of Leftover Crack, The Sharp Things, the Suckers, Mischief Brew, Demander, The Ratchets, and The Debutante Hour. The Evening Rig is a Minneapolis rock band established in 2006 by singer/guitarist Jason Miller (ex-The Crush), drummer Becky Hanten (ex-Cardinal Sin, Cadillac Blindside) and bassist Jake Jarpey. Their first show was opening up for Lucero at a sold out Triple Rock Social Club in Minneapolis in Spring of '06. Shortly after, lead guitarist Josh Lynch joined the band, completing the lineup. The Evening Rig's debut CD "Never Been'er" will be released on the Minneapolis based Heart of a Champion label in October 2007. The Evening Rig on Last.fm.
