Y La Bamba
From Portland, Oregon
First Twin Cities show on MN Live's calendar
From last.fm:
Luz Elena Mendoza is a Pisces goddess who plays under the name Y La Bamba. Based out of Portland, Oregon, she graces the west coast with her haunting, angelic voice. Her dark, minimalistic Mexican-inspired experimental folk songs engage the listener in a realm of the dreamy solitude of a very old soul. The band's new album, "Lupon", was released on September 28th, 2010 on Portland label Tender Loving Empire. www.myspace.com/ylabamba www.gypsypoprecords.com Read more about Y La Bamba on Last.fm.
Buffalo Moon
From Minnesota
First Twin Cities show since since July 17, 2012 • First Cedar show since January 21, 2011 • 32nd Twin Cities show on MN Live's calendar since October 22, 2009
From last.fm:
Ecuador/Minneapolis’ Karen Freire, and her band Buffalo Moon’s Wetsuit cassette tape definitely delivers on the promise of sunny, Astrud Gilberto/Stan Getz-inspired “bossanova/light psych” (see “Poolside Dreaming” + “Jamba Samba”), album closer “Beach Boy” is a classic, lovelorn ’60s pop gem. http://www.myspace.com/buffalomoon Read more about Buffalo Moon on Last.fm.
