Marina Lambrini Diamandis (Greek: Μαρίνα-Λαμπρινή Διαμάντη, pronounced /diːəˈmændi/ dee-a-man-dis, born October 10, 1985 in Abergavenny, Wales, United Kingdom), better known by her stage name Marina and The Diamonds, is a Greek-Welsh singer. Despite the name, she is a solo act, the "Diamonds" being a reference to her fans. Young the Giant is an alternative rock band which formed in Irvine, California, United States in 2004. The band consists of Sameer Gadhia (vocals, percussion), Jacob Tilley (guitar), Eric Cannata (guitar), Payam Doostzadeh (bass) and François Comtois (drums). The band's name is purposefully nonsensical; Gadhia explained it as a "leftfield idea" meant to evoke curiosity.
