GIRLYMAN
From Georgia
First Twin Cities show on MN Live's calendar
From last.fm:
Girlyman is an American folk-rock band formerly based in Brooklyn, New York in 2001 but now mostly living in Atlanta, Georgia. Their self-released debut album, Remember Who I Am, sold 5,000 copies before it was re-released by Daemon Records, the independent record label run by Amy Ray of the Indigo Girls. Their folk-rock musical style is heavy on close harmony. Before the three came together as Girlyman, Nate was an award-winning singer-songwriter, and Doris and Ty (best friends since second grade in Princeton Junction, NJ) were the award-winning duo The Garden Verge. The Farewell Circuit
From Minneapolis
First show since since September 6, 2007 • Sixth show on MN Live's calendar since April 15, 2007
From last.fm:
Nestled in the tropical paradise of Minneapolis, Minnesota where men are God's among mortals; The Farewell Circuit has found a solid foothold in the music world. Incessant self produced releases mark the quintet's constant transformation and evolution as a band and as real people discovering themselves in this labyrinth we call life. Their music has been showcased as immature pop-rock in its early stages and has more recently developed into a powerful-mature sound of catchy guitar melodies, soft piano lines, aggressive percussion all tied together with the graceful vocals of Danny O'Brien.
