Mason Jennings (born March 19, 1975 in Honolulu, Hawaii) is an American pop-folk singer-songwriter currently based in Minnesota. He is well known for his simple yet catchy melodies, intimate lyrics, literary and historical themes, and distinctive voice. His music has appeared in the surf film "Shelter". Born in Hawaii, Jennings moved with his family to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, at an early age. Jennings learned to play guitar at the age of 13, when he began writing songs. Pieta Brown (born Iowa City, Iowa, in 1973) is an American singer and songwriter. She is daughter of American folk musician Greg Brown. After releasing the album Remember the Sun (2007), Brown caught the attention of legendary producer Don Was (Bob Dylan, Rolling Stones, Bonnie Raitt) and teamed up with him to make Shimmer (2009), an EP of stripped-down, just-formed original songs, hailed as “particularly poignant” (Boston Globe) that charted on Americana and Folk radio.
