Dosh grew up in the Twin Cities, Minneapolis, Minnesota. At a young age he also took piano lessons and then discovered FM radio in the early '80s. Dosh began drumming at age 15. By the time he left home for Simon's Rock College at age 16, he had decided music would likely be his profession, however, he subsequently got a degree in creative writing. From last.fm:

There's no guide or manual for what Mystery Palace does, no easy clockwork formula hidden in the Minneapolis based trio's agenda. Sequenced electronics plus live instruments offer a tough enough row to hoe on their own; when the former come from a pair of heavily circuit-bent Yamaha mid-pro keyboards, opportunities for disaster multiply exponentially. Luckily, so do opportunities for the sorts of disastrous successes the band enjoys regularly, largely thanks to founder Ryan Olcott's aptitude for riding his profusely toggle-switched brainchildren's outputs like a porn star. CECIL OTTER

From last.fm:

Cecil Otter is a compelling musician for the same reasons he’s good with cards. The technique runs on charm, patience, intuition, and precision. Cecil is one of the founding members of Doomtree. As an emcee he’s admired for his lyric, cinematic style. He writes about love, vengeance, and redemption—and the spaces where the three convene. His narratives ride on his imagery: sepia flickers of loners, beauties, ghosts, and vagabonds. Read more about Cecil Otter on Last.fm.

From last.fm:

Most notable for his work in the band Fog, Andrew Broder has also worked with Yoni Wolf of Why?, in the one-off side project, Hymie's Basement. Andrew Broder's solo material consists of two EP's, "Modern Hits" and "More Modern Hits", both of which recontextualize hip hop, by setting the vocals to varying styles of Broder's making. Broder has also released material under his own name in the form of a collaboration with George Cartwright, called "Soup". Andrew Broder on Last.fm.
