High on Fire is a stoner metal band originally formed from the remnants of the legendary stoner band Sleep. Matt Pike, from Sleep, sings and plays guitar in High on Fire and founded the band with George Rice (bass) and Des Kensel (drums). High on Fire's sound is extremely heavy, drawing influences from the aforementioned Sleep, Motörhead, Black Sabbath, and hardcore punk. There are at least six artists sharing the name Mono: The name is used by a Japanese post-rock band, a British trip-hop band, a Dutch indie-rock band, a female Austrian reggae artist, a Swedish trance artist and a Korean pop ballad trio. _____________________ Japanese: Mono are a post-rock group from Tokyo, Japan formed in 1999. The songs, all of which are instrumental, are usually focused on layered guitar melodies. Strings and pianos are also prominently featured in some songs.
