At two years old, at about five in the morning, before my parents would get up, I'd pick out a 45 record from my vast collection and throw it on the Fisher-Price turntable (labeled RECORD PLAYER by my mother in giant Sharpie letters), fire that baby up and get on my squeaky hobby horse. A Night in the Box hails from Minneapolis, Minnesota as part of Afternoon Records. The band consists of Clayton Hagen (vocals, Gibson), Travis Hetman (vocals electric/acoustic guitar, banjo, harmonica, etc.), Alex Dalton (drums), and Kailyn Spencer (violin). Their music is a refreshingly energetic mix of bluegrass and folk rock, incorporating stomping, clapping, and sweet harmonization to their tunes.
