Solid Gold
From Minneapolis
First show since since April 19, 2010 • First Mainroom show since February 6, 2010 • First Mainroom headlining show since November 13, 2009 • 61st show on MN Live's calendar since January 13, 2006
From last.fm:
Hometown: Minneapolis. The lineup: Zac, Matt, Adam, Shon and Adam. Let’s get this out of the way up top: no, Solid Gold is not a syndicated top 40 countdown show which aired from 1980 to 1988 featuring the Solid Gold Dancers. But I could see the Solid Gold Dancers doing a fine routine to a couple of Solid Gold’s numbers—maybe the slinky “Bible Thumper,” or the dreamier “Who You Gonna Run To?” Read more about Solid Gold on Last.fm.
Mystery Palace
From Minneapolis
First show since since May 28, 2010 • First Mainroom show • 46th show on MN Live's calendar since March 24, 2006
From last.fm:
There's no guide or manual for what Mystery Palace does, no easy clockwork formula hidden in the Minneapolis based trio's agenda. Sequenced electronics plus live instruments offer a tough enough row to hoe on their own; when the former come from a pair of heavily circuit-bent Yamaha mid-pro keyboards, opportunities for disaster multiply exponentially. Luckily, so do opportunities for the sorts of disastrous successes the band enjoys regularly, largely thanks to founder Ryan Olcott's aptitude for riding his profusely toggle-switched brainchildren's outputs like a porn star. Jbm
From Brooklyn, New York
First Twin Cities show since since April 15, 2010 • First Mainroom show • Fourth Twin Cities show on MN Live's calendar since September 20, 2009
From last.fm:
There are at least three artists called JBM: 1) a Canadian singer-songwriter from Montreal 2) an English hardcore band from St. Albans, Hertfordshire 3) a Japanese hiphop group 1. JMB is Jesse Brian Marchant, a Montreal-based singer-songwriter. He recorded his debut album Not Even in July in Henry Hirsch's church studio in Hudson, NY. Marchant moved to New York at the age of 19 to pursue acting after dropping out of McGill University. He then moved to Los Angeles to write his debut album. He is trained on the guitar and also plays piano, harmonica and ukulele. Read more about JBM on Last.fm.
