The Aggrolites are a band from Los Angeles, California. The Aggrolites are an amalgamation of two previous Los Angeles reggae and bands, The Vessels and the Rhythm Doctors, and were originally formed in 2002 as an in-concert backing band for reggae icon Derrick Morgan. The band were asked to record music for a new album for Morgan, and though the actual project was never released, the recording sessions inspired the Aggrolites to become a permanent band. From last.fm:

Old Man Markley are not your run-of-the-mill band. They’re not a traditional bluegrass band, nor are they a typical punk band. Instead, the band meld elements of both styles into a cross-pollinated “newgrass” amalgam that has resulted in a boot stomping good time for fans around the world. The seven piece band – rounded out by Johnny Carey (vocals, guitar), Annie DeTemple (autoharp, vocals), Joey Garibaldi (bass, vocals), Jeff Fuller (drums), Ryan Markley (washboard), John Rosen (banjo, vocals) and Katie Weed (fiddle, vocals) – roared onto the scene in 2010. THE PRIZEFIGHTERS are Minnesota's first and only Traditional Ska, Rocksteady, and Skinhead Reggae band. The band started out as a solo project of Aaron Porter, aka Lord Grab and Flee in 2004. After a few years of recording all the tracks and playing all the instruments, THE PRIZEFIGHTERS came together in 2006. Matt Morse and Jordan Porter enlisted from Aaron's other band, GYLBOTS. Tim (Tooth) Freeman stepped up to the drums, quickly learning the Jamaican drumming styles essential to playing Traditional Jamaican music. Read more about The Prizefighters on Last.fm.
