Arriving as what MTV Iggy deemed "a new pop iconoclast," Dearling Physique’s bold and exuberant debut full-length album Deadeye Dealer found a diverse audience captivated by its cinematic and synthesia-inducing sound. The universal acclaim that followed helped earn the band such recognition as Metromix’s “Artist To Watch” and MTV Iggy’s “Artist of the Week.” Dearling Physique’s stunning music video for the single “Discipline Your Hands” also received high praise, with favorable mentions from OUT Magazine, Afro Punk and The Onion. From last.fm:

Conscripted in 2008, Hunting Club takes aim with its debut self-titled LP. Drawing from a range of artists (Elliott Smith, the Pixies, Portishead and Prince) Hunting Club melts away the thick ice of Minnesota by creating a lush and highly orchestrated sound that bends the ear with drones of happiness and sadness. Brothers Kyle and Justin Steen grew up with fellow musician Bob Dubois in a sleepy Wisconsin town known more for agate rock than indie rock. Both brothers settled in St. Paul to pursue a higher education where they met Hunting Club frontman Eric Pasi. Read more about Hunting Club on Last.fm.

From last.fm:

Emerging from the rooftops of Chicago in 2007, Netherfriends are that bastard-psych-pop-catchy as hell band that you've been searching for. They signed with indie label Emergency Umbrella in 2009 and released their debut 6 song EP "Calling You Out," fused heavily layered arrangements with group sing-a-longs, spare pianos, synths, glockenspiels and other hard to place, but familiar sounds. The three-piece psychedelic pop band grabbed some early spark and attention from places like Blender and RCRD LBL and have played at both SXSW in Austin and CMJ in New York City.
