Their members play or have played in a bunch of other bands (The Soviettes, Rivethead, Banner Pilot, The Self Polluters, Supermanure, The Salteens), so they are a "super" group in the same sense that McDonalds Ketchup is "fancy". Pretty Boy Thorson & The Falling Angels are a punk/country band from Minneapolis, MN. The band describes themselves as country, and their Gram-Parsons-tribute name and their adulation of Merle Haggard is just part of this. Most of their songs are constructed like country songs, and much of the content is country as well: heartache, loneliness, whiskey.
