Members were previously seen in Washington DC's The Cranium, NYC's Angel Blood, Actress, and Ssab Songs (with Harmony Korine). The group has become well known within the New York experimental/art scene for its distinctive sound that draws equally from African rhythms, Middle eastern dance music, industrial, noise, grime and other genres. Marnie Stern (born March 18, 1976) is a musician, songwriter, and guitarist from New York City. She has garnered acclaim for her technical skill and tapping style of guitar play. Stern has cited many musical influences that contribute to her sound, including Hella, Lightning Bolt and Yoko Ono. In early 2007, Kill Rock Stars released her debut album, In Advance Of The Broken Arm.
