Born of Osiris is an American deathcore band, formed in 2003 in Chicago. The group has undergone a number of name changes before finally settling with Born of Osiris in 2007, basing the name off the Egyptian deity Osiris, and the tale of his son Horus. The band's musical style is mostly based around metal genres including deathcore and technical death metal, although The Discovery shows elements of progressive metal. Originating from the Montreal area, this group first appeared in 1992, when it was called Necrosis; in the same year it was reincarnated under the name of Cryptopsy. With just a demo called Ungentle Exhumation and then the album Blasphemy Made Flesh (1994), the group acquired a solid reputation on the international scene. Their release of None So Vile in 1996 was the first burst of brilliance in their career. Kataklysm is a Canadian death metal band. They call their musical style "northern hyperblast" after an advertisement in M.E.A.T. magazine describing another band, Fear Factory, as "hyperblast". The term refers to the extremely fast blast beats that Kataklysm's drummer, Max Duhamel, fuses into the music.1992. Psycroptic is a metal band from Hobart, Australia. The band is currently signed to Nuclear Blast and has so far released five full-length albums. They formed in 1999 by brothers Dave (drums) and Joe (guitar) Haley who had previously been involved in a band called Disseminate. That group had recorded a demo in 1998 before disbanding.
