Guitar Wolf
From Japan
First Twin Cities show since since April 8, 2012 • First Turf Club show
From last.fm:
The band Guitar Wolf (ギターウルフ), founded in Nagasaki, Japan in 1987, are known for their piercing vocals and extremely loud style of garage punk that emphasized heavy distortion. They coined the phrase "Jett Rock 'n' Roll", a homage to rocker Joan Jett, which they also use to describe their musical style - an energetic cross between The Ramones, rockabilly, classic punk, and noise rock. The band star in cult classic zombie flick Wild Zero. Read more about Guitar Wolf on Last.fm.
The Coathangers
From Atlanta, Georgia
First Twin Cities show since since July 16, 2012 • First Turf Club show • Third Twin Cities show on MN Live's calendar since June 30, 2011
From last.fm:
The Coathangers are a rock band from Atlanta, Georgia. They are: The Crook Kid Coathanger: Vocals, guitar, tamborine; Minnie Coathanger: Vocals, bass, tamborine; Rusty Coathanger: Vocals, drums; Bebe Coathanger: Vocals, keys. The band formed in 2006 as a joke, played a house show and were asked to open for The Hiss on the strength of their performance. The name was chosen for its vulgarity - an irreverent take on abortions - though all band members are pro-choice. Read more about The Coathangers on Last.fm.
