The band started as and instrumental band with roots in classic and alternative rock, jazz and blues. William Within are an indie folk/electric folk quintet based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. Originally a solo project of Alex Simpson, they formed as a band in 2011 and began rehearsing songs featured on his solo album "For Your Nostalgic Pleasure". In September 2012 they released their self-titled full-length album featuring two songs from Alex's solo album ("Gone For A Drive" and "Union Pacific Boxcar") and eight other new compositions.
