The Avett Brothers are a non-traditional bluegrass band that originated in Concord, North Carolina. The two brothers, Seth Avett and Scott Avett, formed the group in 2000 after the breakup of the former rock band, Nemo, adding a third member, Bob Crawford. More recently, they have been joined by cellist Joe Kwon. The Avett Brothers combine old-time country, bluegrass, punk, pop melodies, folk, rock and roll, honky tonk and ragtime to produce a sound described by the Washington Post as "post civil-war modern rock" Read more on Last.fm

The Low Anthem are a quintet from Providence, Rhode Island, United States. They formed in 2006 and consist of multi-instrumentalists Ben Miller, Jeff Prystowsky, Jocie Adams, Mike Irwin and Tyler Osbourne. The band has released four albums: "The Low Anthem" (2006), "What the Crow Brings" (2007), "Oh My God, Charlie Darwin" (2009) and "Smart Flesh" (2011). Ben Knox Miller and Jeffrey Prystowsky met while DJing an overnight jazz show on a Brown University radio station, WBRU.
