From last.fm:
The Big Strong Men’s songs straddle the line between partying and resignation, bursting at the seams with ambivalence. It’s rock & roll primed for dancing but built for transcendence. People have said they sound like the Band, Ben Folds Five, the Cure, Herman’s Hermits, the Old 97’s, Phoenix, Steely Dan, They Might Be Giants, and Wilco. It depends on when you’re listening. The band recorded a little EP called Don’t Go Too Far that was released November 2010. Read more about The Big Strong Men on Last.fm.
Mark Kroos

From last.fm:
Hailing from Williamsburg, VA, Mark Kroos is one of the finest acoustic guitarists and one of the only touring double neck guitarists in the world. His almost strictly instrumental style is characterized by open harmonies, polyphonic textures, incredible tapping technique, and is as entertaining to watch as it is to listen to. Drawing influence from folk, Celtic, Indie, and even punk rock artists as well as other great acoustic guitarist such as Michael Hedges, Andy Mckee and Justin King, Mark Kroos has developed his own edge to the acoustic guitar. The Half Hearts
From Minneapolis
First show since since September 5, 2011 • First Fine Line show • 11th show on MN Live's calendar since January 2, 2010
From last.fm:
The Half Hearts have been described as a mix between Fleetwood Mac and The Pixies. Originally from Duluth, MN - this indie pop quartet combines elements of progressive rock, surf, grunge, cabaret, and neo-classical arrangements. Each member has a unique style – the Vintage Queen, Twee, Mountain Man, and Meta-Nerd. You wouldn't think this line-up would work, but it comes together like a classic cheese-wine-fruit pairing. http://first-avenue.com/performer/half-hearts Read more about The Half Hearts on Last.fm.
