From last.fm:

For such a patently American locale, the Twin Cities have lacked a remarkable group that evokes the American rock canon in a classic manner for a long time. Enter Night Moves. Formed in 2009 by guitarist and vocalist John Pelant, bassist Micky Alfano and multi-instrumentalist Mark Ritsema, Night Moves is a distinctly original concoction. Their honey-dipped sound seethes with a kind of down-home tenderness -- and like the best glittering music -- the arrangements are colossal in shape. Night Moves’ powerful debut Colored Emotions is this Minneapolis group’s first album. Read more about Night Moves on Last.fm.

From last.fm:

It’s been two years since the ACBs released their guitar-pop debut, Stona Rosa. Since then, the Kansas City group’s songs have been featured on MTV (The Inbetweeners), Daytrotter, and a bunch of blogs (You Ain’t No Picasso, We Listen For You, Decoder Magazine). They’ve also performed alongside like-minded acts Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin, Starfucker, and Haim. This spring finds the ACBs returning with their sophomore record, Little Leaves, via High Dive Records. Little Leaves – the title is a nod to frontman Konnor Ervin’s landscaping day job– is a natural progression for the band. Read more about The Acbs on Last.fm.

Cowboy Indian Bear

From Lawrence, Kansas

First Twin Cities show on MN Live's calendar

» More artist info on MN Live

From last.fm:

Cowboy Indian Bear started off like most bands; in search of a name. When members CJ Calhoun, Beau Bruns and Marty Hillard came together they couldn’t decide on a band name so they traded a buddy a six pack of beer for the one they settled on. For the Lawrence, Kansas-based trio, the name was essential. With featherweight melodies, ghost-like echoes and whirring rhythms they create an ethereal celebration that is tempered with a tinge of classic rock/pop. Reflective of the free association ethos of the music, Cowboy Indian Bear stands as the perfect name for its sprawling, ambitious sound. Read more about Cowboy Indian Bear on Last.fm.
