Retribution Gospel Choir is an indie rock band based out of Duluth, Minnesota, USA formed in 2007. Current members of the band include, Alan Sparhawk (guitar, vocals, sampler), Steve Garrington (bass), both of whom are also in the band Low, and Eric Pollard (drums, vocals). Despite sharing the majority of their members, RGC's high-energy performance differs greatly from Low's subdued, minimalist feel. Until 2008, Matt Livingston (formerly Low) played bass for the band. Sparhawk's wife Mimi Parker (and also member of Low) appears on vocals on one Retribution Gospel Choir track as well. Read more about Retribution Gospel Choir on Last.fm.
Kid Dakota
From Minneapolis
First show since since February 21, 2009 • First Triple Rock show since June 28, 2008 • 31st show on MN Live's calendar since March 5, 2005
From last.fm:
Kid Dakota is, predictably, a band with roots in South Dakota. Darren Jackson, who migrated to Minneapolis (where he still resides) after college, built Kid Dakota's sound upon his mid-90's self-produced bedroom recordings. Eventually, he met drummer Christopher McGuire, and music began to flow. Kid Dakota's notoriety increased when the 5 song EP So Pretty caught the attention of Low's Alan Sparhawk.
