The Books
From Vermont
First Twin Cities show on MN Live's calendar
From last.fm:
The story of The Books began in 2000, when Nick Zammuto and Paul de Jong met through a friend in New York City. Sharing similar interests but different backgrounds in acoustic music and found sound, Zammuto and de Jong took their sonic experiments to the studio. Eventually, with some urging by Tom Steinle of Tomlab Records, they created what would become their debut record, 'Thought for Food', in 2002. Read more about The Books on Last.fm.
Baby Dee
From Cleveland, Ohio
First Twin Cities show since since May 4, 2009 • First Cedar show
From last.fm:
Baby Dee (b. 1953, in Cleveland, OH, USA), is the pseudonym of a performance artist / harpist / accordionist / singer-songwriter. Her latest release is "A Book of Songs for Anne Marie" (Feb '10, TinAngelRecords). In NYC, Dee is best known as the badly angelic, Shirley Temple obsessed, high riding cat that ruled the streets of 90s Lower Manhattan. Her quest for adventure & little fishes led her to become the bilateral hermaphrodite of Coney Island Circus Sideshow & Kamikaze Freak Show (EU). Read more about Baby Dee on Last.fm.
