Andy Elwell has been creating and performing music in Minneapolis, MN, since 2001. After gaining recognition through his former punk band Islero, Elwell branched out on his own releasing Different Places (2006), New Ground (2008) and No One You Will Ever Know (2010). Zoo Animal is a Minneapolis, MN band formed in January of 2008. It started from Holly Hansen’s (vocals, guitar) need for a bassist and drummer to perform her solo material. Long-time friend Tim Abramson obliged to play bass, and Al Swenson, a fellow community college student, agreed to play drums (Justin Korhonen has since become drummer) . As they played more, Holly became unsettled. They were playing material she wrote before the band and she felt a need and excitement to write songs specifically for this band to play, allowing them to pretty much shape their own parts.
