Twin Shadow is the stage name of American musician George Lewis Jr. was born in the Dominican Republic and raised in Florida, before eventually relocating to Brooklyn and adopting the Twin Shadow moniker. In 2010 he released his debut album Forget, produced by Chris Taylor of Grizzly Bear. The album has been described as "steeped in 1980s new wave", "building from streaks of haunting synth textures" and "hazily new wave-tinged pop". Diamond Rings is the musical alter-ego of Toronto-based multiplatform artist John O (John O'Regan), first conceived in the summer of 2009. A 7" and home-made video for his first bedroom-recorded single "All Yr Songs" helped to propel Diamond Rings into the spotlight, first garnering attention from Canadian blogs like Chromewaves, and then eventually a "Best New Music" honors from Pitchfork.
