Their members play or have played in a bunch of other bands (The Soviettes, Rivethead, Banner Pilot, The Self Polluters, Supermanure, The Salteens), so they are a "super" group in the same sense that McDonalds Ketchup is "fancy". The Gateway District are Maren (Vocals/Guitar), Carrie (Vocals/Bass), Nate (Guitar), and Brad (Drums).
