From last.fm:
Hailing from Minneapolis, Minnesota, ZEBULON PIKE is an instrumental prog-doom metal band formed in late 2002. Inspired in equal parts by heavy sounds of the 70's (Mountain, Pentagram, Captain Beyond, early Judas Priest), progressive rock (King Crimson, Rush), and 20th century classical (Bela Bartok, Arvo Part, and many others). ZEBULON PIKE combines the impact of metal with the considered approach of "art" music. The result is a rather refined, muted aggression necessary for inciting the slow motion apocalypse. Battlefields
From Minnesota
First Twin Cities show since since July 7, 2010 • Eighth Twin Cities show on MN Live's calendar since July 6, 2007
From last.fm:
After the release of their 2009 full-length, "Thresholds Of Imbalance", BATTLEFIELDS lost founding guitarist Andrew Wallin, and went on a brief hiatus from playing shows. "Agassiz" is the band's return to the trenches with two new members and a more sonically assaulting blackened blend of metal and hardcore. Agassiz blasts through six songs in under a half-hour, presenting a concept EP of the glacial lake Agassiz, whose dried up geographic location is where the band's base of operations lies.
