The Icy Shores are a Minneapolis-based indie rock band, comprised of singer/guitarist Nick Hegarty, drummer/backing vocalist Nick Larsen, and bassist Shane Stubblefield. Their sound leans toward the loud side of indie, with influences like the Afghan Whigs, Nada Surf, Drive Like Jehu and Nirvana. The band started life as a four-piece, with singer/guitarist Hunter Jonakin splitting singing duties. The band's first album, "What You Get And How You Get It", was released in 2005 on Catlick Records. Upon the record's release, the band played extensively around the Minneapolis area. From last.fm:

There are three artists with this name: 1) Maudlin is a sludge band from Belgium. In 2009 Maudlin, willing to take over the world, becomes .maudlin (with a dot) because of existing bands with the same. "In a genre overwhelmed with sad bands, MAUDLIN may be the saddest of them all. It’s difficult to describe feelings we ain’t familiar with. The sadness, anger and depression the band has gone through is reflected in the repetitive, yet very powerful song structure. Sometimes it feels like MAUDLIN only has one friend: their instruments. Read more about Maudlin on Last.fm.
