Yelle
From France
Only Twin Cities show on MN Live's calendar
From last.fm:
Yelle (a feminised acronym of YEL, "You enjoy life") is Julie Budet, a French singer from the town of Saint-Brieuc, France, who started performing in 2005. She rose to fame on MySpace when she posted a song titled "Short Dick Cuizi", dissing Cuizinier, a member of the Parisian hip-hop group TTC. With producer and close friend GrandMarnier, Yelle has recorded a debut album Pop-Up, after her hit single "Je Veux Te Voir" (a finalised version of "Short Dick Cuizi"). The song, which samples the bassline from 20 Fingers' 1994 club hit Short Dick Man, received heavy airplay on MTV. Read more about Yelle on Last.fm.

French Horn Rebellion
From Milwaukee, Wisconsin
First Twin Cities show on MN Live's calendar
From last.fm:
French Horn Rebellion are Robert and David Perlick-Molinari, two brothers born and bred in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, currently residing in Brooklyn, NY. In 2007, younger brother Robert was playing French horn in orchestra, and decided to make hot beats instead. After telling the conductor that Mahler isn't fun anymore he asked his bassoon-toting brother, David to join with him. And so it was, a French Horn Rebellion began. Since then, they boys have travelled the world with French horn slung over their back, playing with MGMT, Yelle, Cut Copy, and others along the way. Read more about French Horn Rebellion on Last.fm.

From Minneapolis
First show since since March 9, 2011 • First Mainroom show • 29th show on MN Live's calendar since February 13, 2007
From last.fm:
There are two groups with the name ESTATE. Estate (1) was formed in the early months of the year 2001 in Linz/Austria. Estate (2) is a synth hop duo from the US who's first album "The Vacation" sounds like the duo have been at it for years. Estate (1)It originally consisted of Michael Forstner (Drums), Josef "Zap" Mayer (Vocals), Paul Schausberger (Bass) and Armin Breuer (Guitar). Estate (2) Coining the genre Synth Hop, they do exactly that. Thick synths, dance-y hip hop beatz, and vocals that will remind you of when hall 'n' oats was young and lovely.
