The Telescopes
From United Kingdom
First Twin Cities show on MN Live's calendar
From last.fm:
The Telescopes were formed in 1987 by Stephen Lawrie and could best be described as a noise/space rock band - The Jesus and Mary Chain, My Bloody Valentine and Spacemen 3 being influences and contemporaries. Their debut release was a split flexi disc with Loop on the Cheree label in 1988. There followed their debut single, "Kick the Wall", and "7th# Disaster" also on Cheree Records. They moved to What Goes On Records and released their debut LP, "Taste" and "The Perfect Needle" single which is perhaps their most famous song. Read more about The Telescopes on Last.fm.
The Vandelles
From Brooklyn, New York
First Twin Cities show since since July 29, 2011 • First Mainroom show
From last.fm:
The Vandelles are rock n’ roll noir at its finest. Their songs are the perfect soundtrack to rain-slicked city streets at night, and the lust, betrayal and violence that filters through them. The band thrives on layers of fuzz and a wall of reverb-laden guitar noise, and they also harbor a penchant for 60s garage pop melody and surf rock riffs. Those expecting the Vandelles to sound like their Brooklyn contemporaries Vivian Girls or Crystal Stilts would be wrong—they channel a dirtier, scuzzier aesthetic more on par with the Cramps, Suicide, X, or even Link Wray. Highspire
From Lancaster, Pennsylvania

Wanting a fresh start and name from their previous band Intro to India, Alex White and EJ Hagen founded Highspire in 1999 as the vehicle to continue their songwriting partnership. Their debut album "Your Everything" was released in 2003 (Europe only, Alison Records) and 2004 (rest of world, Clairecords). "Your Everything" with its shoegaze, britpop and trip hop influences was very well received and garnered many reviews comparing elements of their sound to Ride, The Charlatans, Slowdive, Bowery Electric, and Massive Attack. From San Francisco, California

From last.fm:
LSD and the Search for God hit the Northern California coast in 2005--seemingly from another space and time--dosing San Francisco’s underground psychedelic music community with hypnotic live shows built upon swirling guitars, otherworldly drones, fuzzed-out pop hooks, and youthfully flirtatious male/female vocals. After one of their first gigs (with Australia's The Morning After Girls), LSD was asked by Kurt Heasley to play with Lilys. Read more about LSD and the Search for God on Last.fm.
