Hailing from Minneapolis, Minnesota, ZEBULON PIKE is an instrumental prog-doom metal band formed in late 2002. Inspired in equal parts by heavy sounds of the 70's (Mountain, Pentagram, Captain Beyond, early Judas Priest), progressive rock (King Crimson, Rush), and 20th century classical (Bela Bartok, Arvo Part, and many others). ZEBULON PIKE combines the impact of metal with the considered approach of "art" music. The result is a rather refined, muted aggression necessary for inciting the slow motion apocalypse. Iron Thrones was a progressive metal band from Minneapolis, MN. Their music combines progressive death metal and post-metal, with elements of classic progressive and modern rock, as well as a variety of other extreme metal subgenres. Previously performing under the name "Everest", the band was founded in late 2005, and released their first EP titled "Where Earth Meets The Sky" through Mascaret Records in 2006. Jeremy used to play bass in V9R9D. Jack is used to playing drums in The Deaf. Dave Erb used to play guitar in Sicbay. The band came together about a year ago. Jeremy was looking to start a new project, while Jack was looking to play instrumental music. Auditioned a few cool peeps, but all in all Jeremy and Jack played just way too many notes and a connection could not be built with that third person. Until that third person ended up being Dave. Sicbay had just recently broken up and Dave was the last straw before J&J would have gone on as a two piece. Read more about The Yoleus on Last.fm.
