Charlie Parr
From Duluth, Minnesota
First Twin Cities show since since February 1, 2013 • 114th Twin Cities show on MN Live's calendar since February 11, 2005
From last.fm:
Charlie Parr plays original and traditional folk and Piedmont-style blues, accompanying himself on National resonator guitar, 12-string guitar and sometimes a banjo. He was raised in Austin, Minnesota, in a household that prized traditional American folk music and his style bears the influence of hours spent listening to country blues records and Smithsonian/Folkways field recordings; often in the garage. He currently lives in Duluth, Minnesota. Read more about Charlie Parr on Last.fm.
Murder of Crows
From Duluth, Minnesota
First Twin Cities show since since November 16, 2012 • First Cedar show • Third Twin Cities show on MN Live's calendar since August 18, 2012
From last.fm:
Four groups are known as The Murder of Crows: two from the USA, one Irish and another from the UK. 1. The Murder of Crows (Duluth, MN, USA) is the moniker used as of 2010 for the works by Duluthian residents Gaelynn Lea (violin, vocals, song-writing) and Alan Sparhawk (vocals, song-writing, guitar, technology). Alan is also known as solo artist but also for his work in Low and Retribution Gospel Choir. The songs are both experimental as ethereal in nature. In April 2012 the Imperfecta EP was released in a very limited edition. Read more on Last.fm
