El Vez
From La, California
First Twin Cities show since since December 12, 2009 • Fifth Twin Cities show on MN Live's calendar since May 7, 2005
From last.fm:
Because Elvis has become an international institution that can communicate across national and cultural boundaries, it comes as no surprise that El Vez - the self proclaimed "mexican elvis" - has come along. El Vez, aka Robert Lopez, has been kicking around the L.A. underground music scene for nearly twenty years. He first appeared in the early L.A. punk band The Zeros and then played in Catholic Discipline (which also spawned lesbian folk singer Phranc). Read more about El Vez on Last.fm.
Buffalo Moon
From Minnesota
First Twin Cities show since since November 1, 2012 • First Mainroom show since October 27, 2010 • 36th Twin Cities show on MN Live's calendar since October 22, 2009
From last.fm:
Ecuador/Minneapolis’ Karen Freire, and her band Buffalo Moon’s Wetsuit cassette tape definitely delivers on the promise of sunny, Astrud Gilberto/Stan Getz-inspired “bossanova/light psych” (see “Poolside Dreaming” + “Jamba Samba”), album closer “Beach Boy” is a classic, lovelorn ’60s pop gem. http://www.myspace.com/buffalomoon Read more about Buffalo Moon on Last.fm.
