Val Halla may refer to the stage name of Canadian singer/songwriter Valerie McLeod, or to the three-piece rock band she fronted in 2007 before adopting the name for her solo career. The three-piece band also included Neil Towers and Tayo Branston of Vancouver afro-funk group Five Alarm Funk. Their music may be characterized as guitar-heavy rock with driving, soulful vocals, while the solo artist Val Halla's music has been described as "Janis Joplin meets Rickie Lee Jones" with "a bit of The Runaways".
