Both Megan March and John No, equal parts of Street Eaters, were born in Oakland, raised in the East Bay, and came of age in the DIY punk world of 924 Gilman, Mission Records, and the Oakland art warehouse scene. At times you get a glimpse of the well-known East Bay sound in their music, but the band draws from a wide and varied musical palette. Street Eaters’ music has been likened to a mixture of the political consciousness and rhythmic clamor of The Ex with the layered harmonies and pop sensibility of X.
